Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) in Dubai Marina is a huge attraction for tourists and locals who want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city to relax at the beach, shop along The Walk, or dine al fresco on the Persion Gulf coast. We are not really beach people and would rather be exploring a new destination than spending an entire day at the beach, so JBR was a quick stop for us on a Dubai visit full of many exciting adventures (see Miracle Garden, Souk Madinat and Textile Souk, Global Village, Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa posts).
At JBR, we enjoyed a casual stroll down the boardwalk at The Beach, a retail complex on the beach with restaurants, shopping, entertainment facilities, even gyms. Personally, I think that working out under the sizzling sun on an Arabian beach sounds like a hellish nightmare, but to each his own. JBR is the place to see and be seen, whether sporting a sexy bikini, workout gear, or dressed up for dinner out.
It is also a great family-friendly destination, as all parents know that the beach can provide endless hours of entertainment for children. There are areas for beach volleyball or you can rent sunbeds if chilling and reading a good book is more your thing. There is also a kids craft corner on the beach where our littles, had they joined us for this vacation, would have surely enjoyed getting their faces painted or making sand art. We did not see any camels during our meander down The Beach, but we have friends who took camel rides on the beach, so this is another great option for families. We also discovered a carnival game area that would be a huge hit for the kids or for those young at heart. Here’s a photo journey of our little walk along JBR.
We hope you’ve enjoyed our little stroll along the beach and have a good idea of what to expect if you are considering visiting Jumeirah Beach Residence in Dubai. It was recommended to us by our concierge at Park Hyatt Dubai and is worth visiting if you enjoy the beach, want to get in more shopping, or would like to dine outdoors on the Persian Gulf coastline. We also recommend visiting Oman, which is a short drive from Dubai, where you can have an authentic Arabian glamping experierince in the desert.
