Singapore Airlines consistently ranks as one of the best airlines in the world and was voted the world’s best airline in 2018. We flew Singapore Airlines 777 300ER Business Class from Singapore to New York City for only $109 in taxes/surcharges and 135,000 Krisflyer miles per person. We saved over $10,000 USD in the process with this redemption. We would have been able to extend the value of our redemption by taking advantage of Singapore Airlines Stopover policy (1 free stopover allowed on roundtrip award, $100 on one-way award). We also wanted to see how the premium cabin with Singapore Airlines compared with Emirates Airlines First Class which we flew from New York (JFK) to Milan (MXP) and from Milan (MXP) to Dubai (DXB) and from Washington DC (IAD) to Male (MLE). If you are considering flying on the Boeing 777 Singapore Airlines Business Class, here is a quick glimpse of what to expect. Singapore Airlines Business Class reviews on the Airbus A330, A350 and A380 will be coming soon on the blog.

Singapore Airlines 777 300ER Business Class Cabin
The Singapore Airlines business class cabin on the B777-300ER consists of 42 seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. The cabin is open and inviting with neutral colors and prominent leather seats. We opted for the middle seats so we could sit together. This was a special father-son flight as Alexis and our daughter flew home on Saudia Air First Class (more on that soon).
Tall people should opt for the bulkhead seats as they offer more legroom space especially when the seat is laid flat. The same applies for the Singapore Airlines business class on the A350 which we flew from Singapore (SIN) to Hong Kong (HKG) on a separate occasion.

Singapore Airlines Business Class 777 300ER Seats
Singapore Airlines Business Class 777 300ER seats are extremely comfortable and well designed. There is ample storage by the armrest, next to the seat and by the TV display area. Between phones, cameras, and iPads, we didn’t have to reach for our bags to retrieve them. There is even a vanity mirror display for an extra mid-flight touchup.
Champagne in Singapore Airlines 777 Business Class
Singapore Airlines 777 Business Class serves Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve Champagne. Though this is not the $300 Krug Champagne offered in the first class suites, the Charles Heidsieck champagne went down nicely even though it wasn’t noon yet local time (Please don’t judge 😉) Welcome champagne and nuts were promptly served upon getting acclimated to our seats.
Comfortable beds in Singapore Airlines 777 300 ER Business Class
The Singapore Airlines 777 300ER Business Class seats are even more comfortable when turned into beds. When came the time to get some rest during our long flight, we asked the friendly crew for some help turning our seats into beds. The kind flight attendants made our beds and provided extra blankets and pillows. Our energetic son, who is always the wild card during long international flights, slept through most of the flight. We definitely dodged a bullet on this 13+ hour flight!
Singapore Airlines Business Class Menu
The food served in the Singapore Airlines Business cabin is prepared by chefs from around the world. The extensive Singapore Airlines Business Class menu from Singapore to Frankfurt included breakfast, lunch, “delectables” like noodles, sandwiches and snacks in between mealtimes, light dinner, and full-portioned dinner. Some of the options included Pan Fried Cod Fillet with Steamed Mussel, Grilled Lamb Kebab on a Farro, and Roasted Chicken Breast with Black Truffle Jus. An impressive selection of fruits, cheese, dessert, and bakery items were also available. We ate like kings on Singapore Airlines Business Class.
Singapore Airlines offers passengers in its Suites, First Class and Business Class cabins on certain flights the choice of a wide selection of meals up to 24 hours before the flight. We did not opt for the” Book The Cook” but greatly enjoyed all the meals provided with the onboard menu. All were expertly paired with wine at the recommendation of the sommelier.
Our son is a very picky eater but seemed to enjoy all the food provided by the lovely Singapore Airlines flight attendants who took great care of him all throughout the 13hrs+ flight. He especially loved all the attention from the doting crew!
Singapore Airlines B777-300ER Business Class Amenities
Singapore Airlines Business Class provides slippers, headphones, socks, eyeshades, and pillows to use during the flight. Pajamas are only provided to passengers in the First Class Cabin. Compared to Emirates, we were surprised that Singapore Airlines does not offer an amenity kit. We love opening premium cabin amenity kits to discover what goodies await and were somewhat disappointed not to receive one on Singapore Airlines Business Class. However, the most important amenities like slippers, socks and eyeshades were distrubuted after takeoff so we can’t complain. Obviously the lack of amenity kits does not take away from the overall experience as backed by the current World’s Best Airline award.
Singapore Airlines B777-300ER Business Class Lavatory
There are two lavatories in the Singapore Airlines B777-300ER Business Class cabin. They were sparkling clean and were fully stocked with amenities such as razors, feminine products, combs, lotion, and mouthwash. We’ve heard that Singapore Airlines does not provide an amenity kit because many people don’t use them and they are wasted. It’s nice that they still provide essentials in the bathrooms for those who do need them. There was also a changing table which was welcomed while traveling with our son.
Singapore Airlines Business Class Service
The Singapore Airlines Business Class flight attendants impressed us with their professionalism, kindness and warmth. Our son was pampered from the time he set foot on the plane. As soon as our flight attendant found out he was a big SpiderMan fan, she had SpiderMan toys and coloring books lined up to keep him entertained during the flight. The flight attendants go above and beyond to make your flight exceptional. It is no wonder why the customer service rankings of Singapore Airlines are so high.
Singapore Airlines Business Class Review
The Singapore Airlines Business Class experience does not just start from the moment you step on the plane but rather at the Changi Airport, one of the best airports in the world. The Singapore Airlines Business Class check-in process was expedited and we went through security quickly. The Singapore Airlines lounge is very large with excellent food and drinks in a relaxing ambience. Our 13+ hour flight followed by another 9hr flight to JFK were remarkably smooth thanks to the outstanding service provided by the crew. Check back soon on the blog for a more thorough review of our flight and tips for how we scored such an incredible deal ($109 per person plus 135,000 miles).
