We had the pleasure of dining at the Michelin-starred Terrazza Bosquet while staying in Sorrento’s Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria. It was a night to remember. Honestly, it will be hard to surpass as far as dining experiences go. We are excited to share our Terrazza Bosquet review and take you behind the scenes with us. We wish there was a way to share the taste of the food with you, but our photos will have to do. You’ll just have to visit for yourself to experience this wonderful restaurant in Sorrento.
Dreamy Location
Sorrento is the gateway to the Amalfi Coast and has views that will take your breath away. Terrazza Bosquet offers arguably the most beautiful view you will find in Sorrento, set on a cliff overlooking the Gulf of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius. Ruins of Emperor Augustus’s villa are said to lay beneath the hotel, so you know this is a dreamy location. During the summer, guests sit on a beautiful terrace with a relaxing sea breeze and sublime view for the sunset. In colder weather there is indoor seating with large windows showcasing the breathtaking view. We could stare at this all day.
Exceptional Service
The view is incredible and the service is even more impressive at Terrazza Bosquet. From the moment we arrived to the end of the night, we had outstanding service from the entire team. Benito, the manager, greeted us with a huge smile and seated us at a beautiful candle-lit table. Our waiters Giovanni and Francesco took excellent care of us all night. We were so happy to see Giovanni again, who had been our server at breakfast during our stay at the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria. We had already gotten to know him very well so were laughing and joking with him all night. Natale, the sommelier, poured us fantastic wines that paired perfectly with each course. He even showed us the wine cellar, which was quite impressive! We cannot forget Chef Antonino Montefusco, Terrazza Bosquet’s Michelin-star chef. He invited us into the kitchen to see the live action creating the masterpieces.
Behind the Scenes
So you can imagine that we were beyond thrilled when we were invited to visit the kitchen at Terrazza Bosquet. We have the wonderful General Manager Tiziana to thank for this incredible opportunity. Thanks Tiziana and Chef Antonino! We will never forget this night.
We snapped photos of the chefs hard at work creating their edible works of art. Bertaut had some fun taking slow motion videos of the pasta chef flipping pasta in his skillet. We learned that there are over 20 different kinds of tomatoes, who knew? They meticulously arranged them on a plate to serve with pasta. We even got to taste a few dishes. Yum!
The Menu
Executive Chef Antonino Montefusco takes great pride in his menu, as you can see from his message below. Everything was beautifully and creatively presented. Each dish was an exquisite work of art. Dinner at Terrazza Bosquet is the ultimate foodie experience.

The 7-course tasting menu costs 130 euros or 140 euros with a selection of cheese. It consists of the following.

Amuse-bouche & First Course
So after our exciting tour of the kitchen, we made our way back to our table for dinner. We enjoyed a glass of prosecco while we waited for our first course to arrive. We were like giddy school girls when our amuse-bouche arrived. It was almost too beautiful to eat. The presentation blew us away. Colorful vegetable chips were dislpayed on a piece of white coral. Cheesy pastry puffs and bites of tuna were stabbed through spiky shells. Perfectly round dots of olives sat on a mother of pearl plate to enjoy with the forkful of tuna. Apologies for doing such disservice to the descriptions of this food. We are not culinary experts. We love food though. Each dish was throughly explained to us as it arrived. However, we had so much to eat and drink that night that we cannot remember the details. Note to self- record the explanation next time we eat at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Or perhaps drink less wine. Nah, not when it’s great Italian wine.
Middle Courses
We received one masterpiece after the next over the course of the evening. We enjoyed ravioli, pasta with caviar, amberjack fish, and Adam and Eve’s apple. It’s hard to pick a favorite dish because it was all delicious. It was even more exciting knowing that we were there in the kitchen while they were creating these dishes.
Dessert
The dessert was the grand finale of our phenomenal dinner at Terrazza Bosquet. Dessert consisted of 3 courses and dessert wine. They started us off with a small pre-dessert with white chocolate mousse and some sort of strawberry goodness. Next they brought out a glass bottle filled with what we assume was liquid smoke. It was the kind of bottle you see floating in the ocean with a message hidden inside. We were wondering how we were supposed to get the dessert out of the bottle. Then they magically lifted the top half of the bottle and voila! Smoke poured out to reveal a sweet pineapple boat filled with mouse and topped with a chocolate sail. Lastly we received a pretty selection of petit fours. It was too much food to possibly eat, but we sure did try.
Terrazza Bosquet Review Conclusion
Terrazza Bosquet made for an unforgettable evening from the wonderful food to top-notch service to romantic ambience and priceless view. We will always compare future dining experiences to that night. Let’s get real, it will be hard to beat. What’s not to love: Italian wine, Italian food, Michelin-star chef, Italian people (we LOVE these guys), Italian coast.
