For our honeymoon in August 2006, we spent a week at the “Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun All Inclusive” resort, though we did not select the all inclusive option during the booking in order to try local food and save money. This hotel is not to be confused for its sister property “Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Resort & Spa” and “Fiesta Americana Vacation Club Cancun – Timeshare World”
This review is for the “Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun All Inclusive” resort and will feature a couple of pics from the “Fiesta Americana Vacation Club Cancun – Timeshare World” resort.
We arranged to have a shuttle pick us up at the airport with our Orbitz reservation for a small fee. The shuttle from the airport to the resort took about 45 minutes as there were many stops along the way which gave us the chance to check out the various resorts. We were excited to reach our destination, and as honeymooners, you can only imagine why… 😉
The resort has a giant grass hut on top of its open air lobby. We found it to be very inviting and the cross-breeze was much welcomed during the high temperatures of the Cancun summer.
The huge lobby area with plenty seats and lounge chairs is very similar to the Majestic Colonial Punta Cana – Dominica Republic

The resort offered an extensive brunch buffet with surprisingly good food for an all-inclusive resort, most of which was delicious local cuisine, and mimosas. We love Mexican food and wanted to eat local food, so this was a nice treat since sometimes resorts cater to the cuisine of the tourists. We tried the buffet a couple of times and always managed to stuff ourselves and get tipsy off champagne before hitting the beach. There was a method to our madness though since we did not have the all-inclusive option for the resort. We ate a late breakfast/brunch, snagged a few pieces of fruit and pastries in our beach bags for an afternoon snack, and then didn’t have to pay for a meal again until dinner. Beware however of drinking too much champagne before spending all day in the sun- I felt sick to my stomach a few days due to my gluttony.  Nonetheless, the buffet was a delicious and affordable option for our thrifty student budget.
During our stay, we were invited to take part in a timeshare meeting and were promised a gift in exchange for our time. We essentially saw the opportunity to get a free meal plus a free daytrip excursion to the ancient Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza, Cosumel Isla, or Playa del Carmen. We obviously chose Chichen Itza.
The meeting took place at the “Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Resort & Spa“. We had a very brief meeting while enjoying our free breakfast buffet and as soon as the timeshare representative realized that we were newlywed college students and could not afford to buy a timeshare, he turned off the sales pitch and was really low-key. He was still gracious enough to show us the beautiful property and let us snap some pics and dream about the days we would have enough money to afford buying places with such gorgeous views.
As a summary, we truly loved our week-long stay at the “Fiesta Americana Condesa All Inclusive Cancun“. Even though we didn’t book the All Inclusive rate, we were still able to enjoy the buffet for a reasonable charge. The resort has beautiful and inviting grounds, the employees go above and beyond to ensure your stay is exceptional, and we never felt pressured in any way to purchase a timeshare.
In terms of value, this hotel ranks high on our list for what it offers and will always be remembered as our romantic honeymoon getaway and start of our travels as Mr. and Mrs. You may not leave the room much on your honeymoon 😉 but at a beautiful resort like this, you will want to get out some and enjoy it all. We enjoyed relaxing on the beach, lounging by the pool, swimming and exploring its beauty. We invite you to give it a good look during your next stay in Cancun and hope that it brings you as much joy as it did for us. Adios amigos!
