We flew Emirates First Class A380 from Washington DC to Dubai during our return trip to Maldives for only $38.30 in taxes/surcharges and 100,000 JAL miles per person (JAL has since raised the taxes/surcharges for this redemption). We saved over $30,000 in the process making this an excellent use of our miles. We had previously flown with Emirates Airlines from New York (JFK) to Milan (MXP) and from Milan (MXP) to Dubai (DXB). Emirates flies its Airbus A380 to Milan and its Boeing 777 to Dubai. We extensively reviewed both the Emirates A380 and B777 first class cabins. Emirates impressed us not only with their cabin, service, food and beverage but also with their lounges that simply do not compare with domestic airline lounges. If you’re wondering what to expect on Emirates First Class A380, here’s a quick glimpse with 10 of our best photos from our fantastic flight.

Emirates First Class A380 Cabin
The Emirates first class cabin on the A380 consists of 14 suites each with aisle access. There is a self-served fully stocked bar at the front of the first class cabin if you feel thirsty and need something to wash down the caviar. To top it all off, there are two massive SPA showers so you can get to your destination refreshed and feeling like a million bucks. Forget about joining the mile high club , only one person at a time is allowed to use the showers and they are reserved in blocks of 30 minutes. Such a shame! 😉 Check out our 360 degree image of the Emirates First Class A380 cabin below.

Emirates A380 First Class Suite
The first class suites on Emirates Airbus A380 are very comfortable with ample legroom, even for a giant like Bertaut. The seats are well laid out with several control buttons, ample room for storage, and even a mini fridge stocked with juice and water. The Emirates A380 first class suite is luxuriously decorated with a golden color scheme, fresh orchids, and ambient lighting. Solo travelers will want to get to the windows seats for a view, whereas those traveling as a couple will enjoy the middle seats. There is a separation screen in the middle that can be raised if you’ve had enough of your partner’s jabbering. 😉 Every suite has direct aisle access and the doors can be closed for extra privacy.
Dom Perignon in Emirates First Class A380
Emirates does not spare any expenses when it comes to its dining experience. We were served Dom Perignon 2009 during our flight, which costs $180 a bottle. The champagne glasses were refilled almost as fast as their delicious content went down, no judgment passed. Cheers to free-flowing champagne! Japan Airlines (JAL) has them beat though with Salon champagne which costs a whopping $500 a bottle, which we enjoyed during our flight from New York City to Tokyo . Check out JAL First Class in 10 photos too!
Cozy beds in Emirates First Class Cabin A380
When traveling, we tend to hit the ground running to see more, do more and get more value out of our vacations. As such, getting enough rest on long flights is essential. We made the noobie mistake of not getting any sleep during our New York City to Milan flight and ended up crashing hard in the Maldives in the middle a private oceanside dinner. The Emirates A380 first class seats fully recline and lay flat. When ready for a nap, the flight attendants make your bed and provide pillows and blankets. We found the beds to be suprisingly comfortable for an airplane and got sound sleep.
Emirates A380 First Class Beverages
Emirates serves a wide range of premium beverages besides Dom Perignon during the flight. The extensive beverage list includes an impressive selection of wine, including red, white and dessert wines. We enjoyed the Francois Villard Condrieu ‘De Poncins’ 2015 and Chateau Balestard La Tonnelle St Emilion 2010. Emirates First Class also serves up delicious cocktails, shots of premium liquor, juices, soda, coffee, and tea. We enjoyed shots of Grey Goose vodka to pair with our Russian Caviar!
Dining Experience in Emirates A380 First Class
The Emirates A380 first class passengers enjoy delicious a la carte dining whenever they want. The menu includes gourmet dishes inspired by the region. Caviar, tradional Arabic mezze platters, and seafood duo are some of the delicious meals we enjoyed in Emirates first class on the A380. We’ve consistently been highly impressed with the Emirates dining experience.
Emirates First Class A380 Amenities
Emirates offers some of the most generous amenities to its first class customers. The kits by Bulgari include an eye mask, dental kit, slippers, handbag, moisturizing pajamas, and several cosmetic products like facial moisturizers and even aromatherapy. Emirates First Class also provides noise cancelation headphones to use during the flight, but unfortunately you don’t get to keep those.
Emirates A380 First Class Shower Spa
Who wants to take a shower at 40,000 feet? The shower spa is available on the Emirates A380 and not the B777. The large bathrooms have heated floors, a huge selection of Bulgari toiletries, signature organic seaweed VOYA products and an information screen with flight information. The two (2) Shower Spa are only available to the first class cabin and are reserved for 30 minutes. Only one person at a time in each Shower Spa, although the bathooms are large enough for a small party! 😉
Emirates A380 First Class Self-Serve Bar
Passengers in the Emirates A380 first class cabin can not only enjoy drinks from the self-serve bar in the front of the cabin but also at the Bar/Lounge behind the business class cabin. That is the happening place for fun conversations and group gatherings. Our dedicated flight attendant escorted us to the bar where we had mojitos while chatting with the crew and other passengers. The friendly flight attendants also let us play bartender and try on the stylish hat (see photo at bottom of post). The Bar/Lounge is NOT available on the Boeing 777.
Emirates A380 First Class Service
The Emirates first class experience from start to finish is impeccable with its lounges, expedited security line, boarding, cabin, and chauffeured services. Emirates flight attendants have given us exceptional service each time we’ve flown with them. They have consistently been friendly, professional, and have had a great sense of humor. We were warmly greeted by our 2 lovely flight attendants who entertained us during the flight and shared hilarious stories. We have been fortunate to have experienced some incredible premium cabin flights with Lufthansa First Class as well as Etihad Business Class. Check out our reviews of those incredible premium flight experiences, which we also booked with miles and paid only taxes.
Conclusion of Emirates First Class A380 in 10 Photos
Emirates provides an exceptional flight experience on their Airbus A380 in First Class. We loved the Shower Spa, Bar/Lounge, excellent lounges and service by the flight attendants. We had a fabulous time flying with Emirates. We were able to hit the ground running and drive straight from Dubai to Oman thanks to a great flight and our handy jet lag energy boosting glasses. Check back soon on the blog for a more thorough review of our flight and tips for how we scored such an incredible deal ($38 per person plus 100,000 miles).
