Bora Bora is a dream destination and on most people’s travel bucket list. Although everyone fantasizes about staying in an overwater villa in Bora Bora, that’s not ideal for families with young kids who might wander outside while parents are not looking. A safer choice if you’re visiting Bora Bora with kids is a garden villa or beach villa. During our stay at the Conrad Bora Bora Nui, we stayed in both a Garden Villa and Beach Villa for a total of 6 nights using our Hilton points.
Here we’ll review the Conrad Bora Bora Nui King Garden Villa, a spacious Bora Bora bungalow that is perfect for families. This luxurious villa is an upgrade from the standard Lagoon View Suite and boasts a luxe bathroom, private terrace, king bedroom, and separate lounge area which sleeps 2 children.
Make sure to check out our comprehensive Conrad Bora Bora Nui review for all the details on the resort’s setting, restaurants, pool, beach, activities, spa, kids club, and service. No matter which Conrad Bora Bora villa you choose, you’re sure to have an amazing stay at this top luxury Bora Bora resort.
Conrad Bora Bora Nui King Garden Villa Review
The Garden Villas are located in the coconut garden surrounded by palm trees with views of the lagoon. Our kids had fun running around barefoot in the grass looking for coconuts, bugs and anything interesting they could find. Our villa was situated at the base of the hill that leads up to the spa and chapel. It was just a few minutes walk to the main restaurant, pool and beach, which was a plus with kids.
Lounge Area
When you first enter the spacious 1087 square-foot villa, you walk into the lounge area. Your gaze immediately goes to the view of the cerulean lagoon through a large sliding glass door leading to the terrace. There’s a couch that can sleep one adult or two small children. Children under the age of 13 stay for free with their parents, and this villa accommodates 2 children and 2 adults. The Polynesian-inspired decor features a calming palette of natural hues with a lot of wood and neutral tones.
A 32-inch LCD HD TV is mounted on the wall that separates the lounge area from the bedroom. The villa also features a Bluetooth system that can play both indoors and outdoors on the terrace, which really impressed us. We love to have family dance parties so this amenity was a huge perk in our book.
We received a welcome gift and note that was waiting for us on the table. Presumably due to our Hilton Diamond status we received of a bottle of wine, juice, bottled water, gourmet chocolates, and goodie bags for the kids with candy and adorable pink marshmallow piggies. That really made their day, and we certainly appreciated the wine since drinks are expensive at the resort.
Garden Villa King Bedroom
The Garden Villa has a king bedroom that separates from the bathroom and lounge area by sliding pocket doors. This is especially beneficial for families since parents have extra privacy while they sleep. While you’re in one of the most romantic destinations in the world, trust me, you’ll want your nighttime privacy. 😉
The king bed has a large canopy that makes it very cozy and inviting. Housekeeping left a flower arrangement on our bed to welcome us upon arrival. A plush bench sits at the end of the bed. There is another 32-inch LCD HD TV in the bedroom that had a personal greeting waiting for us upon arrival.
The bedroom has an entire wall of closets and ample space to lay luggage. Next to the closet is a desk area with a phone. They also provide life jackets for an emergency or to use during your stay, although they also provide them by the beach.
Luxurious Bathroom
The luxurious bathroom is incredibly spacious and very impressive. It features an abundance of natural light from the back wall of windows, granite countertops, an oversized tub, two separate vanities, a shower and separate room for the toilet. The kids loved the oversized tub and had fun playing in it at bath time.
Luxe bath amenities are by Shanghai Tang in a Mandarin Tea scent. Housekeeping left a generous supply of mouth wash, shower gel, lotion, shampoo, and condition which is important for a beach vacation. Additional bathroom amenities include a hairdryer and plush bath robes.
Terrace with Lagoon Views
The sunny terrace is visible from the lounge area, bedroom and bathroom thanks to the floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that span most of the villa. The terrace has lounge chairs and a dining table so you can relax outdoors while listening to the Bluetooth play your favorite music. You can see the blues of the lagoon in the distance while enjoying the serene garden atomosphere.
Mini Bar and Amenities
At the entrance of the garden villa, there’s a mini bar area with alcohol, drinks and snacks to purchase. Guests can make their own complimentary coffee and tea with the Nespresso machine and hot water kettle. Housekeeping also provides one complementary bottle of water per guest every night during turndown service.
As with all Bora Bora prices, the mini bar is expensive. A soda is $7.50 and a half bottle of wine is $34. We recommend taking the shuttle to the grocery in Vaitape to buy drinks at the beginning of your stay to cut down on costs.
Last words on our Conrad Bora Bora Bungalow
We only stayed one night in the King Garden Villa before moving to the King Beach Pool Villa but thought it was absolutely beautiful, spacious, and luxurious. We loved how the bedroom was separate from the lounge area where the kids slept, making it a great choice for families. If you have really young children and are worried about them wondering outside and into the ocean, it’s a good choice since it’s not right on the beach or over the water.
Our villa was conveniently located near the pool and main building, cutting down on walking time. It offered both garden and lagoon views with a short walk to the beach. The coconut garden was a huge open space for the kids to play, explore, and burn some energy. Families can’t go wrong with the Conrad Bora Bora Garden Villa.
