Le Sirenuse: The most luxurious Amalfi Coast resort
Le Sirenuse lives up to its reputation as the most luxurious hotel in Positano and even on the Amalfi Coast. It is the only Leading Hotel of the World in Positano. The family-operated boutique hotel on the Amalfi Coast is glamorous, elegant, and refined with impeccable service. Le Sirenuse pampers its guests all day long, starting with an incredible breakfast buffet. Le Sirenuse restaurant La Sponda serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a Michelin star. At Le Sirenuse breakfast is complimentary to hotel guests, but it far exceeds your typical hotel breakfast buffet. Breakfast at Le Sirenuse hotel is an experience to savor. Enjoying breakfast at this luxurious Amalfi Coast resort is something we will never forget. Let us show you how Le Sirenuse does breakfast at La Sponda, one of Positano’s best restaurants.
Le Sirenuse restaurant La Sponda
La Sponda in Positano is Le Sirenuse’s Michelin-starred restaurant. The ambience is like something out of a fairytale. Green ivy crawls across the white ceilings in the sun-filled rooms that overlook the bay of Positano. Glance past the colorful spread of food to see Positano’s landmark Church of Santa Maria Assunta through the huge windows. Just wait though until you step outside to see where you will enjoy your breakfast.
At Le Sirenuse breakfast comes with a view
Breakfast is served outdoors on the sunny terrace overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and cliffs of Positano. We cannot imagine a more beautiful location to enjoy breakfast in Positano. The hotel has an awning and umbrellas to provide shade. Guests can also choose to dine further down the terrace in front of the pool. You can’t go wrong no matter where you sit. The view is breathtaking. You may spend hours savoring your meal and the view of the Amalfi Coast. We sure did!
Guests can order hot menu items for breakfast
The impressive buffet is enough to please even the pickiest travelers, but Le Sirenuse also offers its guests hot menu items made to order. We ordered omelettes with bacon and sausage. They were very tasty. Needless to say, we overindulged at breakfast. If you’re on a diet, you may just want to have a cheat day. YOLO!
Pastries and cakes
The selection of pastries at the buffet is enough to tempt even the healthiest eater. They are beautifully displayed and almost too pretty to eat. We tried a local speciality made with Le Sirenuse’s home-grown lemons which was delicious.
Fresh fruit
We love fresh fruit and were surprised by the impressive selection of organic fruit at Le Sirenuse. The buffet offered slices of cantaloupe, strawberries, kiwi, grapefruit, pineapple, watermelon, apples and more. It was arranged artistically on beautiful platters amid the stunning backdrop of Positano. See Positano’s famous church in the background?
Salad, meat & cheese
You can’t visit the Amalfi Coast without having Caprese salad. The fresh tomatoes at Le Sirenuse are out of this world. They were sprinkled with sea salt and fresh basil. Then you can add the famous local buffalo mozzarella. It was by far the best caprese salad we had in Italy.
Also try some of the savory local prosciutto and smoked salmon. Le Sirenuse offered a nice array of thinly sliced meats and fish. We tasted a few slices and they were very flavorful.
Cereal and yogurt
There was also a selection of cereals and yogurt including home-made granola. We filled up on more exciting breakfast options, but this is a healthy option for those watching their wastelines.
Fresh juice, mimosas and wine
There’s no better way to start off a day in paradise than with some bubbly. The champagne flows freely at Le Sirenuse for breakfast. We made ourselves mimosas with the fresh-squeezed orange juice. They were to die for!
Le Sirenuse also offers wine and a colorful selection of fresh juices to quench your thirst. Make sure to get hydrated before relaxing by the pool or seeing Positano by boat on Le Sirenuse’s Sant’Antonio.
Coffee and tea
Breakfast at Le Sirenuse isn’t complete without some caffeine to jump start your day. Order coffee any way your heart desires. Cappuccino, latte, espresso anyone? We are tea drinkers so sipped steaming cups of green tea while taking in the awe-inspiring view. I was tempted to order a cappuccino though after I saw how beautiful it looked when the people next to us ordered one.
Friendly service
Lastly, the wonderful service made our delicious breakfast at Le Sirenuse even better. Keep an eye out for Pepe. He’s a jokester and may try to convince you that he is actually his brother Fabio who looks just like him. We fell for it after much convincing. He got busted when we were bragging about how great Pepe and his brother Fabio were to management. They said “Pepe has a brother?”and we knew we’d been tricked. We all had quite a few laughs. We certainly love Italians’ zest for life and joyful attitude, which shines through the staff at Le Sirenuse.
