After an amazing family trip to Japan and Singapore, it was time to head home. We had been eager to review Singapore Airlines Business Class 777 300ER, so I (Bertaut) flew with our son in Singapore Airlines 777-300ER Business Class from Singapore to Frankfurt. Alexis flew home on Saudia First Class with our daughter. I booked our Singapore Airlines 777 business class flight on points and we had an incredible experience.

As you can imagine, I could barely wait to experience THE BEST and am excited to share our Singapore Airlines Business Class review with you. How I booked our flight on Singapore Airlines 777 Business Class
I booked our return tickets less than a month ahead of its scheduled date and therefore couldn’t take advantage of Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Saver awards. Our family vacation to Asia, unlike most of our vacations, was a last minute decision that would have cost us a fortune had we paid with dollars instead of miles. The Singapore Airlines business class price is not cheap. A one-way ticket from Singapore to JFK in November on Singapore Airlines Business Class can set you back $5000+. However, I secured our flights using 135,000 KrisFlyer miles/pp and paying only $110.26/pp in taxes and fees. Had we planned our trip more in advance and been able to book saver awards, we would have only needed to use 92,000 KrisFlyer miles per person.
Prior to December 7, 2017, we would’ve needed only 85,000 KrisFlyer miles using saver awards. Singapore Airlines slightly increased its mileage redemption, which happens periodically with every airline. It’s best not to sit on points too long since they lose value over time.
We could have stretched the value of our redemption even further by taking advantage of Singapore Airlines’ generous stopover policy. With our one-way tickets, we could have added a stopover in Frankfurt for just $100. If we had flown roundtrip, we could have enjoyed a free stopover in Frankfurt for as long as one year! However, we had to get back home for work and school so just enjoyed a brief airport visit in Frankfurt.
Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer is a transfer partner of American Express, Starwood Preferred Guest (now Marriott Rewards), Chase and even Citi. This makes Singapore Airlines redemptions some of the easiest to get, backed with an excellent customer service and all around flight experience.
Singapore Airlines Business Class Check-in at Changi Airport
Rarely will you see travelers want to get to the airport early just to enjoy it. Changi Airport has consistently been ranked as one of the best airports in the world. We made our way to the airport well ahead of our flight to explore the airport and spend time in the SilverKris lounge. We walked over to the Singapore Airlines desk to check in, well our son was actually doing cartwheels on his way there. There were hardly any other passengers and we were promptly taken care of by the friendly staff.
Singapore Airlines business class baggage allowance varies depending on if you’re flying in or out of the U.S. For flights to and from all destinations except the USA, business class passengers are allowed 40kg of baggage. Since we were flying to the U.S., our baggage allowance was 2 pieces, up to 32kg each. The sum of length, width, and height of each checked bag must not exceed 62 inches.
After checking our bags, the staff gave us directions to the security lanes, lounge and gate and off we went. It is easy to see why this airport ranks so high. There is a high level of automation and efficiency.
Singapore Airlines Business Class/First Class SilverKris Lounge
We cruised through the security lines in less than 5 minutes and made our way to SilverKris lounge without feeling rushed. Our son lead the way. The Singapore Airlines SilverKris lounge is located on Level 3 in Terminal 2. The Business Class section of the lounge is open 24 hours while the Singapore Airlines First Class Lounge is open from 5AM – 11:59PM.
The lounge was fairly empty and very spacious with soft relaxing light throughout. There are plenty of hiding places for an over-energetic boy 😉.
The buffet area was extensive with delicious local and international food even picky eaters like our son would enjoy. Our plates were promptly cleared from our table by staff, making it feel more like a luxury restaurant than an airport lounge.
Singapore Airlines 777-300ER Business Class Cabin
After a restful stop at the lounge, we made our way to the departing gate once again led by the mini energizer bunny. Our cheerful flight crew greeted us onboard and escorted us to our seats while chatting and laughing with our son. I’ll give it to him, he’s a hilarious kid and is pretty cute too. 😉
The Singapore Airlines 777-300ER Business Class cabin has 42 seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. All seats have direct aisle access. The cabin felt open and inviting with neutral colors and large prominent leather seats. I thought that could have easily been the first class cabin on any other airline.
By the time we booked our flights and selected our seats, there were no bulkhead seats right next to each other so we picked 22D and 22F in the back of the business class cabin. That way if our son decided to go a little crazy during our 13hr 35 minute flight, which he has been known to do, at least he would be away from where most people would be sitting.
Singapore Airlines 777 Business Class Welcome Drinks
As soon as we got settled, the flight attendant brought us welcome drinks, nuts and magazines. The little man opted for orange juice while I obviously went for the champagne. Free-flowing champagne and top-shelf liquor are one of the many things we love about flying in premium cabins. Singapore Airlines serves Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve Champagne. While this is no $300 Krug Champagne offered in the first class, it is still great champagne.
Singapore Airlines Business Class 777-300 ER Seats
The Singapore Airlines 777-300 ER business class seats are very wide and comfortable. The seat is nicely laid out with multiple storage spaces all around. We travel with a lot of photography equipment and had space to store most of it conveniently, including a GoPro, 360 degree camera, Canon DSLR, cellphones, and tablet.
There was a USB and charging station which was very convenient and spared us from using our portable battery packs.
There was additional storage for sunglasses and even a vanity mirror display for any needed inflight touch-up. The carry-on nicely fit under the footrest taking away the need to get up to retrieve anything from it. I appreciated these design touches, which were well thought out.
However, my only critique of Singapore Airlines 777-300ER business class seat design is the space for legroom. It is off to the side instead of directly ahead, which can be uncomfortable for a tall guy like me. However, the bulkhead seats are designed differently with leg room directly in front, which is much more comfortable especially for sleeping. Tall people should definitely select bulkhead seats in Singapore Airlines 777 business class to have more legroom.
When it was time to sleep, the flight attendants made our beds for us. The flat beds made the long flight much more enjoyable since our son was able to sleep soundly instead of toss and turn uncomfortably in a seat. Flying premium is a game changer when it comes to long-haul flights with young kids. The 13+ hour flight was a breeze thanks to the comfortable beds in business class.
Our son also enjoyed having the extra space to play and move around when the seat belt sign was off. Our little man is full of energy so having somewhere to burn it off is always appreciated.
Singapore Business Class Amenities
Inflight amenities in Singapore Airlines Business Class include slippers, headphones, socks, eyeshades, and pillows. Pajamas are only provided to passengers in the First Class Cabin. Compared to generous amenity kits on Emirates and Etihad, we were surprised that Singapore Airlines does not offer an amenity kit. We love opening premium cabin amenity kits to discover what goodies await and were disappointed not to receive one on Singapore Airlines Business Class. They’ve stated that they find them wasteful so do not provide them.
However, the flight attendants distributed the most important amenities (slippers, socks, eyeshades, headphones) after takeoff so we can’t exactly complain. Obviously the lack of amenity kits does not take away from the overall experience as backed by the current World’s Best Airline award.
In addition to the amenities distributed by the flight crew, there are additional amenities in the bathrooms if needed. Drawers in the bathroom hold shaving kits, feminine products, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc. There’s also mouthwash, lotion, and perfume available to use.
Inflight entertainment for Singapore Airlines Business Class
Business travelers will appreciate having the convenience of inflight WiFi. We found the OnAir inflight Wifi to be fast and reliable, though 50MB for $20 seemed expensive compared to what we’ve paid on other airlines. WiFi on our Japan Airlines First Class flight from NYC to Haneda was free. Emirates and Etihad also offer better wifi rates and we feel this is somewhere Singapore Airlines could improve.
The inflight KrisWorld entertainment for Singapore Air Business Class is very good. We had a varied selection of movies, TV shows, cartoons, and the airshow to see our flight progress. The cartoons were a huge hit with our son, who loves TV.
Singapore Airlines Business Class Menu
The food served in the Singapore Airlines Business cabin is prepared by chefs from around the world. The extensive Singapore Airlines business class menu for our Singapore to Frankfurt flight included breakfast, delectables like noodles, sandwiches and snacks in between mealtimes, light dinner and full portioned dinner. The lovely Singapore Airline flight attendant took care of our son like he was her own child, setting up his table and even tucking in his napkin. I hardly had to do anything which was great! 😊
Singapore Airlines offers passengers in its Suites, First Class and Business Class cabins on certain flights the choice of a wide selection of meals up to 24 hours before the flight. We did not opt for the” Book The Cook” but greatly enjoyed all the meals provided with the onboard menu. All were expertly paired with wine at the recommendation of the sommelier.
Some of the Singapore Airlines business class menu items included Pan Fried Cod Fillet with Steamed Mussel, Grilled Lamb Kebab on a Farro, and Roasted Chicken Breast with Black Truffle Jus. An impressive selection of fruits, cheese, dessert, and bakery items were also available. We ate very well in Singapore Airlines Business Class.
Singapore Airlines 777-300ER Business Class Bathrooms
There are two lavatories in the Singapore Airlines B777-300ER Business Class cabin. They were sparkling clean and as mentioned earlier were fully stocked with amenities. There was also a changing table which was helpful while traveling with our son.
Singapore Airlines Customer Service
The Singapore Airlines flight attendants impressed us with their professionalism, kindness and warmth. Our son was pampered from the time he set foot on the plane to the time he stepped off. As soon as our flight attendant found out he was a big Spider-Man fan, she had Spider-Man toys and coloring books lined up to keep him entertained during the flight. The flight crew went above and beyond to make our flight exceptional. It is no wonder why Singapore Airlines customer service rankings are so high.
Last words on our Singapore Airlines Business Class Review
The Singapore Airlines Business Class experience does not just start from the moment you step on the plane but rather at the Changi Airport, one of the best airports in the world. Since Singapore Airlines customer service is excellent from start to finish, the check-in process was expedited and smooth. The Singapore Airlines business class lounge in Singapore offers excellent food and drinks in a relaxing ambience. Our 13+ hour flight was remarkably enjoyable thanks to the outstanding service provided by the crew and the spacious business class seats.
